Fast General Contracting delivered the 15th Place Utility Relocation Project for the City of Plano, a major municipal infrastructure project converting existing overhead electrical, telephone and cable services to new underground utility systems along 15th Place, between J Avenue and K Avenue, resulting in a fully operational underground utility infrastructure system.
The work scope included removal of existing utility poles, overhead electrical, telephone and cable lines, street-lighting infrastructure and existing services, followed by extensive excavation, trenching, underground conduit installation, backfilling, compaction, concrete and site restoration. New underground electrical, telecommunications and cable infrastructure was installed and connected to multiple existing commercial properties.
A major component of the project was maintaining continuous operation of the occupied businesses throughout construction. FAST coordinated utility verification, service relocations and scheduled cutovers with the City of Plano, Oncor Electric Delivery, Frontier, Spectrum, property owners and tenants, with critical power and communication interruptions performed during coordinated after-hours or scheduled periods.
